Wiltern Center |

Clad in jade and turquoise-colored tiles, the remarkably beautiful, 12-story Art Deco Pellissier Building and Wiltern Theatre comprise one of Los Angeles’ most visible Art Deco monuments. The Wiltern opened at the corner of Wilshire and Western in 1931, with the premiere of the Warner Brothers movie “Alexander Hamilton”. Saved from the wrecker’s ball in the late 1970’s and restored to its former splendor, it is today a popular venue for concerts and other performances by leading U.S. and international artists. The ornate lobby and reception rooms make the Wiltern a memorable site for glamorous nightlife, Hollywood premiers, private concerts and theatrical benefits. By day, it lends its inimitable cachet to a wide range of tenants, from private offices and professional organizations to entertainment industry affiliates. This landmark became a property of Hertz Investment Group in 1998, and was sold in 2006 at a substantial profit.
